Research Associate position available at the University of Sydney, focusing on the development of photonic-lantern-based imaging and wavefront-sensing instruments. It will focus in particular on the Photonic Wavefront Imager (PWI) instrument, an instrument family being developed for MagAO-X (Magellan Clay telescope), SCExAO (Subaru telescope), and as a technology demonstrator for potential GMT applications.
The position would suit someone with either an astronomical instrumentation background or more general optics/photonics engineering background.
