Paris Observatory (LIRA) is seeking outstanding candidates for 2 PhD scholarships starting in Fall 2026 in astronomical instrumentation for exoplanet imaging. These PhDs scholarship are fully funded as part of the ERC project ECHOES.
PhD IFS : Combining integral field spectroscopy (IFS) and coronagraphy: new optical techniques to image habitable zone exoplanets with future space and ground-based instruments Description and application.
PhD CDI: Coherent differential imaging (CDI): a new image processing techniques towards the first image of a habitable zone exoplanet Description and application.
Applications sent before Monday March 30th 2026 at 23h59 CET will receive full consideration. Please clearly indicate in your email which PhD you candidate to (PhD CDI or PhD IFS). If you wish to apply to both subjects, please indicate the favored PhD subject. Best candidates will be interviewed remotely early April and final offers will be sent by mid-April.
